LOVE THY NATURE | nodrogtoo
The meteorological variety on display fascinates me to see what effects the weather has on our daily lives.
Being so passionate and involved with the weather I've decided to embark learning more on the events that surround us.
My aims for the weather channel is to film and document weather phenomena such like the Haar Fog, ’the Cap’ or Helm winds, tornadoes, giant hail, lightning and gales we receive each season.
The Cap or Helm wind is quite a feature across the North Pennines effecting the Eden Valley area but not exclusively. As I understand it this is when a strong wind blows down over the North Eastern counties of Durham and Northumberland up to the Pennine fells.
A layer of thick clouds appears along the far tops of the hills known as ’the Cap’. Then a heavy wind will fall down the West side of the fells onto the boarding lands and villages causing the wind to erupt into a strong gale.
On the other side of the spectrum I would love to see the calmer aspects of weather. Occurrences like ‘Sun Dogs’ or Noctilucent clouds. Bur whatever Mother Nature delivers I'll be there to capture her beauty.
