Calls for Northern to hand the line over permanently where some of the echos, especially from Tim Farron and commuter pressure groups.
Excitement was high in prospects for a short period WCR were able to get access to the Lakes Line and run a service aiding passengers to all the stations including Kendal and Winderemere.
Northern have organised a full bus service to accommodate travel as part of thier obligations but WCR will also run the said services over the weekend.
One of the first instances of this news was known on the Preston Area Railway Group Facebook Page posted by a local railway operations expert Aaron Roscoe.
Tim Farron Tweeted: "Absolutely delighted to announce that we've arranged for @westcoastrail to provide a special free shuttle service on the Lakes Line over the Easter weekend. They did an amazing job last summer when they stepped in to provide a service on the Lakes Line - roll on the weekend!"
It has been suggested as more engineering work is expected in the future, WCR may provide further services - much to the delight of the enthusiasts!
