According to the main contractor 'Story' a heavy rail lifting crane will help to remove and replace the spans as they did with Squires Gate bridge in early 2018.
A temporary walkway has been fitted alongside the bridge to allow pedestrians to continue a journey over the railway line, however road travel will be diverted.
It is advised to check with National Rail or Northern Rail as there will be no train services past St Annes on Sea.
Network Rail have advised that engineering works will take place on the weekends of the 9-10 March and 16-17 March. This is to allow NWR to replace a bridge in St Annes.
As a result the line between Blackpool South and Kirkham will be closed. There will be trains as normal to Blackpool North and rail replacement services between Preston & Blackpool South (calling at all stations).
