What has been happening at Squires Gate Station since July, well we have got back into something of a routine now at both St Anne’s and more importantly Squires Gate.
Northern removed their restrictions in terms of the number of working volunteers on stations which meant up to 6 could work socially distanced and wearing masks of course. It was quite hot and steamy under the masks during the hot spells but we managed and distanced when trains were arriving and leaving so that passengers did not interact with us.
They would have to come out and assess the problems and then refer back to Northern who would then get Network Rail to do the repairs. A very convoluted process which we could have had done within days. It is likely to take months to resolve.
On a positive note we are hoping to regain access to Platform 2 sometime in late October 2020.
