Super news, fizzy trains under the wires now running passenger services along phase 4 or to you and I the Bolton Corridor! Huge thanks #theGNRP for inviting me along today to film this great occasion and interview some of the main players in getting this phase complete.
As from early this week Northern Rail class 319 electric traction has been serving the passengers of the Bolton Corridor. I myself used the service from Blackpool North bound for Manchester Piccadilly.
Getting off at Bolton station to meet Sponsors, Management, Councillors and many other people who all celebrated this event on Platform 5.
Here a Northern train using the electric power from the newly installed overhead equipment graced our platform to give us a free ride along the line to Bucksaw Parkway.
The BBC, local news and other journalists enjoyed the smooth and quiet ride along the Bolton Corridor to interview those on board and experience the modern age of rail travel in the North of England.
The who operation of this upgrade has not been as smooth as the BR class 319 ride, but ultimately these issues were reviewed, quashed and solved to produce the end product of great British engineering.
One of the most impressive parts of the Great Northern Rail Project is news of what is in store for the old Victorian station buildings. The whole space currently left unloved will be completely revamped for the the local educational communities and other local groups to maximize their cause or benefits.
Initial talk of photographic, video or recording productions, rooms to showcase local arts and crafts and many more great commitments for all to enjoy.
A new lift will be installed and new catering facilities to help those who visit. Work on the station trimmings and other areas will see some attention too.
An overall buzz and fantastic feeling about the station's future is circulating about the platform and town. This is a station to watch and see the spaces and rail travel bloom over the next few months and year.
I'm really thrilled to meet and enjoy the comforts of what this great station now has to offer. A really grand effort from all connected to this project and very pleased to provided a video production / vlog to share with my community and followers.
Please only use the photos of the electric traction only if you wish to take. As usual if it's for commercial reasons please credit to nodrog.
Are you excited to use the new electrified system, do you live in Bolton and intend to use the new community space? Comment below and don't forget to like and share any of the post.
